Project
Nodalis currently intervenes in the Democratic Republic of Congo for the elaboration of the electricity sector’s tariff structure. Among the objectives of the assignment, Nodalis is developing a tariff regulation methodology for the electricity sector, ahead of a tariff structure and grid proposal for the public operator, SNEL.
Nodalis experts traveled to the DRC to present their work on the determination of the cost of service for the sector's operators, the analysis of connection costs, and the recommendations regarding the taxation and incidental taxation applicable to the electricity sector. The restitution seminar took place at the Hôtel du Fleuve Congo in the presence of the sector’s stakeholders.During this mission, NODALIS provided a two-day training session on electricity tariffs to public stakeholders, as well as for operators in the sector and professional associations. The training covered tariff regulation, the concept of cost of service, the authorized revenue calculation method, the model specifically developed for the DRC, as well as the elaboration of a tariff grid. This training aimed at building the capacity of participants, and at setting the ground for future discussions on tariff measures to be adopted.
